Enid Triathlon

Another triathlon and another opportunity to learn and to grow as I try to get better at this!!
Friday night, after a busy and long week we headed to Enid, OK for my Saturday morning race. Since we had to spend the night in a hotel I packed my breakfast and everything else I thought I might need for this race except....milk. I woke up at 4:30am to have breakfast. I made my oatmeal and took it to bathroom (yes, I did that) with the intention to eat as I was relaxing in a warm bath. As soon as I tried my oatmeal I knew something was wrong and I just couldn't figure it out. Keeping in mind that we went to bed at 1am and it was 4:30am I thought I hasn't woken up yet and that I messed up my breakfast. I knew cooked it and I added some sugar and then I realized what it was...I made it with water and not milk like I do at home. It was terrible!! I know some people eat it that way but it was so bad that I just couldn't eat it. I thought about eating a banana before the race but they didn't get the bananas out until after the race!!! I was hungry so I had some Power Bar and Power Gel. Those just didn't help! During the bike ride I was feeling so sick to my stomach. I know now that I need some food BEFORE I have any power gels or anything like it. Lesson learned:)

In Enid we met with Alicia, Ben and Steve. It was great to see them and also to do this race with them. I usually start the swim with Ben and I like that because he is always trying to calm me down and I get distracted by just talking with him. Then during the bike ride I hear this "Go sister" and I know that is Steve passing me and though I tried to keep up with him I found it hard on Saturday when I thought I was going fast and He passed riding 26 or 27mph. Now that is fast!!! Alicia is the runner/sprinter. She had a baby 2 months ago and she did great on Saturday. I am really proud of her and I am so happy that I have them to do these races with. It makes a big difference to have great friends with whom I could this. I am so blessed to have them!! Thank you guys...
